SPRING GREETING
Beneath the sodden leaves
Under frozen earth
She has waited;
Waited patiently
Asleep;
Dreaming of hyacinth days
Meadows waving in dances green
Fragrances awakening the senses
Ah yes, has she dreamed
Lilacs bursting
With charismatic charm
Waiting for the sunlight warm
Now, now she awakened
Yawning with breath so fair
The beauty the rebirth
Of Spring is in the air!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful image, Barbara! I am looking forward to those blooming here: we have lots of them because they are so pretty and seem to do well in this climate.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Montucky!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a joyful poem and lovely image! Yay!
ReplyDeleteYour image would make a charming broach to wear on a yellow or pastel purple sweater on Easter Sunday.
ReplyDeleteOhhh! I never thought of anything like that! Great idea, Preston! Thank you! :)
