Rock Around The Clock
One, two, three o'clock, four o'clock, rock,
Five, six, seven o'clock, eight o'clock, rock,
Nine, ten, eleven o'clock, twelve o'clock, rock,
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight.
Put your glad rags on and join me, hon,
We'll have some fun when the clock strikes one,
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight,
We're gonna rock, rock, rock, 'til broad daylight.
We're gonna rock, gonna rock, around the clock tonight.
When the clock strikes two, three and four,
If the band slows down we'll yell for more,
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight,
We're gonna rock, rock, rock, 'til broad daylight.
We're gonna rock, gonna rock, around the clock tonight.
When the chimes ring five, six and seven,
We'll be right in seventh heaven.
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight,
We're gonna rock, rock, rock, 'til broad daylight.
We're gonna rock, gonna rock, around the clock tonight.
When it's eight, nine, ten, eleven too,
I'll be goin' strong and so will you.
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight,
We're gonna rock, rock, rock, 'til broad daylight.
We're gonna rock, gonna rock, around the clock tonight.
When the clock strikes twelve, we'll cool off then,
Start a rockin' round the clock again.
We're gonna rock around the clock tonight,
We're gonna rock, rock, rock, 'til broad daylight.
We're gonna rock, gonna rock, around the clock tonight.

ReplyDeleteThat was a great decade, wasn't it! I enjoyed every bit of the 50's and really like your rendition. The '57 Chevy was one of my favorite cars back then. I often look back at those days and wish that I could have raised my kids in that era. It was exciting and yet much more mellow than today's pace.
ReplyDeleteA blast from the past ... wonderful :-)))
ReplyDeleteMontucky, I think ALL kids should have been raised in the 50's-- a great decade!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jonie! :)
Love your art! Love Bill Haley! Love the '40 Ford coupe! We have a '40 Ford sedan to cruise around in the summer, with 50's music playing all the way.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the memories!
Lorraina, that is so cool! Sounds like fun! Thank you! :)

ReplyDeleteI was born in the 50's but relate to it through music and television shows. I remember watching the sitcom "Happy Days". Thanks for the nostalgia.
ReplyDeletePreston, I was born in 1950 and, like you, experienced it through the music and TV! I loved Happy Days. They don't make good TV like that anymore!
