She sang the old songs
Songs of lilacs and shady lanes
She sang the peace songs
Songs of home and front porches
She sang the love songs
Songs of heart and Sunday walks
She sang until time and rhyme were one

A perfect example of art and poetry complementing one another. Well done :-)))
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Jonie! I appreciate it! :)
ReplyDeleteAll made me reminisce to a time my mother and father lived, both are still alive. A time thought of as the Good ol' Days. I'm so spoiled with air conditioning, store purchased ice cream, and micro-waved popcorn. To me, these are the good ol' days right now :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, Preston. While it may nice to wax nostalgic, in reality we would miss the comforts of today! Thank you! :)
ReplyDeletewow, that is a lovely melody, nice and serene. thanks for sharing barb my buddy:))
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lorilynn! :D
ReplyDeleteI love that image that recalls the old photo albums, with the sticky-backed corners to hold the photos.
ReplyDeleteThey compliment each other wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely Barbara and the picture does complement the words very well

ReplyDeleteThis is nostalgic and lovely! Love the poem and old front porches... brings back memories.
ReplyDeleteI miss front porches, too, Anna! Seems to be dying out, rarely see them on new homes. That's sad! Thank you for being here! :)
